The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer will undergo new governance this July. Pastor Gary N. Stiegler, 71, will be retiring from his 16-year career as a pastor on June 30. Pastor Gary served eight of those years at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Vineland. He accepted the call to serve at Redeemer in August 2009.
Since his arrival, Pastor Gary has been very active and involved in the South Jersey community. From his presidency of the Vineland Ministerium to his involvement in the Rotary Club to being a police chaplain to helping out with the Code Blue/M-25 initiative, Pastor Gary’s work has changed the South Jersey community for the better.
The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer will continue its initiatives, outreach programs and spreading a positive message to the people of Vineland and in nearby communities. The congregation will be led in worship by Synod supply pastors and many active volunteers within the congregation until a call is issued to a new pastor.
Pastor Gary and his wife, Jan, will be retiring to Salisbury, MD, where they will enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
The congregation held a special retirement breakfast on Sunday, June 4, following the 9:30 a.m. service, celebrating Pastor Gary’s retirement and years of service.
